- No special device or technology necessary.
- It is easier to understand than some other channels of communication.
Disadvantages
- Words spoken are quickly forgotten.
- Poor presentation of the message can result in misunderstandings.
- Provides no legal evidence
Visual Communication
Advantages
- Graphical images last longer in the mind of the recipient than spoken or written words.
- Easy for illiterate people to understand.
- Presents complex information that would not be conveyed orally or in written ways.
Disadvantages
- Can be costly.
- Can create ambiguity especially if used alone.
- Can be distracting
Electronic Communication
Advantages
- Facilitates rapid global communication.
- Can be used to facilitate written, oral and visual communication.
- Allows for permanent storage of information.
Disadvantages
- Can be costly (the use of technological devices is needed).
- Communication is limited to persons who share similar technological devices.
- Information may not be transmitted.
